DDC-ITS is 100% owned by the Navajo Nation and has been in business since 2011. Responsibilities

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Perform Microsoft System Administration and application support in various areas to support application maintenance and development activities.
  • Provide server support, software installation services, and break/fix services for users and enterprise applications.
  • Work as a member of a team or individually to diagnose and repair issues with server operating systems, networking, and storage.
  • Maintain documentation records to log and track problems and resolutions as appropriate.
  • Install hardware and software at remote sites.
  • Create key performance indicators and metrics reports.
  • Administer the directory service operations.
  • Administer the capacity of systems and services.
  • Provide cost and chargeback reporting to management and customers based on established costing and charging policies.
  • Monitor availability of infrastructure services.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units/Strategic Support Units and the Company.  Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

 

Qualifications

 

Skills required: 

  • BS in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 8 or more years related experience.
  • Experience in monitoring servers and services to ensure system is fully functional within Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012R2, and 2016.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft OS system administration.
  • Understanding of Linux OS system administration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time appropriately.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to follow directions.
  • Ability to follow process; yet able to ask questions to understand the process.
  • Must be thorough in completing documentation and reports.
  • Good communication skills and people skills.
  • Good problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience with NetApp, VMWare, Active Directory, and Cisco preferred.
  • Security+
  • In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered.  Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
