Responsibilities

NOVA Corporation is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to work in Fort Meade, MD. This position is offering 2 days of telework per week. In your new role, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Administering, developing, running tests on, implementing, and maintaining operating system and related software.
  • Establishing and implementing standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software, operating system, and networking problems.
  • Scheduling, performing, and monitoring system backups and, when necessary, performing data recoveries.
  • Scheduling, planning, and performing system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments.
  • Scheduling tasks using software support tools and scripts.
  • Configuring hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
  • Providing technical support for system users.
  • Providing expert support, analysis and research for RedHat Linux and VMWare installations with minimal direction.
  • Serving as technical expert on the project team providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives.
  • Thinking independently and demonstrating exceptional written and oral communications skills. 
  • Applying extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines, such as Windows Server and Databases.
  • Guiding the successful completion of major programs and will function in a project leadership role.
  • Developing technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.

Qualifications

Must have a Top Secret clearance

Education: Bachelor's Degree
