    Coordinate planning and migration necessary to incorporate state of the art technologies, especially those available with z/OS or built on top of it. The contractor shall also provide technical and engineering support in the broad range of maintenance and utilization of environmental software with an emphasis on the DISA installed IBM z/OS Operating Systems, JCL, DB2 and IMS communications and general operations.

    Support (to include define, install, patch, test, validate) the workings of installed software and firmware including system software, utilities, programming languages, compilers, interactive terminal software (MQ Series), DB2, Oracle and IMS database support. Provide technical and engineering support in z/OS operating systems and associated products.

    Provide customer support via email and/or phone on questions and issues relating to the software maintained on the systems for z/OS, DB2, Oracle and IMS to include but not limited to patches, changes and upgrades.

    Understand and write SQL to complete reports and support customer requests for data extract. Present data in spreadsheets, slides and documents using the Microsoft office tools potentially daily, as required by DISA’s mission partners. Compile Link and Bind Operations and executions with COBOL/DB2/Oracle/IMS commands.

    Utilize BMC Mainview products suite to include Mainview for DB2 to dynamically monitor the systems’ health. Will report in writing monthly as issues arise.



    • Good troubleshooting skills
    • Good documentation and process skills
    • Experience with Remedy IT Ticketing system
    • Software installation on z/OS operating systems.
    • z/OS DB experience in one of the following: CICS, DB2, IMS
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
    • Internet

    • SharePoint


    Certifications Required

    Security +CE

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or eight years of experience in lieu of a college degree.
    • DoD 8570 IA certification – Security +, CE certification

    Certifications Preferred
