    Responsibilities

    Provide senior level System Administrator support for Windows as well as support for development and implementation of SharePoint applications.  This may include reports from ITSM, and locally developed applications.

     

    Configure, develop and maintain SharePoint Service Application

    The requirement for configuring, developing and maintain SharePoint Service Application includes the following functions:

     

    Tuning, Optimization and Implementation of Support Systems in a Large Enterprise Environnent

    Senior Technical Support with extensive general computer and systems programmer (and/or System Administrator) experience. Working experience in Windows is required.

    • Technically assist development of application programs and system interfaces. Respond to problems that arise during program testing and production implementation.
    • Support the customer problem resolution process to resolve errors in systems and application software, which have been identified by DECC Mechanicsburg. [**NOTE** we are no longer a DECC, the position is assigned to the Application Support branch]
    • Evaluate software proposals and participate in evaluations, reviews and other selection processes as needed to determine software effectiveness, performance and applicability with DISA or its customer base. Personnel must be able to write a proposal documenting the criteria needed for a particular solution.
    • Must be able to create/maintain documentation and provide classroom style educational classes related to fields of expertise.
    • Monitoring Presentation Support. Support the installed monitoring software including related utilities, programming interfaces, compilers, interactive terminal software and transaction processing software.

     

    Configure, develop and maintain SharePoint Service Application

    The requirement for configuring, developing and maintain SharePoint Service Application includes the following functions:

    • Install, configure and manage Web Applications.
      • Create IIs Web sites.
      • Define and select an authentication mode.
      • Configure servers for use of Common Access Cards. Coordinate requests with DISA RA Operation for PKE/PKI Certificates for Web servers. 
      • Handle multiple URLs with Alternate Access Mappings.
      • Extend a Web application to enable multiple authentication modes.
      • Use manual and automated methods for deploying content.
    • Add site collections.
      • Define and select a suitable site template.
      • Control growth using quotas based on guidance from the government.
      • Upload custom templates to the gallery.
    • Design an effective search strategy.  
      • Define and configure Custom Search Content Areas.  
    • Import Active Directory profiles.  
      • Define and map profile attributes.
      • Create effective audience rules to display personalized content.
      • Implement social networking using My Sites.
    • Design and implement Disaster Recovery.
      • Assist the team in the design and implementation of Disaster Recovery strategy/plan as it applies to the application.
    • Develop and implement an effective backup strategy.  
      • Assist with the review of backup plans.
      • Support the team in implementing the backup strategy if requested.
      • Troubleshot as a part of a larger team the problems and then assist in getting the problem resolved as well as giving guidance on how to improve the backup plan.

    Qualifications

    MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN WITH A SECRET CLEARANCE

    Education Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree or five years of experience in lieu of a college degree.
