    Responsibilities

    Duties & responsibilities:


    • The DECC Computing Infrastructure (DCI) is considered to be the core network infrastructure of the DISA data center. The DCI is responsible for supporting all hosted applications and services provided within the DISA data centers. The DCI supports common data center requirements to include routing, switching, load balancing, DMZ services such as, firewalls, web application firewalls, database firewalls, IDS, IPS, and proxy servers/appliances. The contractor will be required to maintain the current architecture. The contractor shall perform future strategic engineering and technology refresh to support the DCI. The contractor shall engineer, test, install, integrate and support the DCI to include complex troubleshooting using logs and packet analysis is required. The contractor must be capable of supporting the existing communications infrastructure and developing and implementing strategies to meet future requirements. The contractor is required to be skilled in the necessary disciplines to properly support the DCI in its current and future design. Several examples of the products found within the DCI are Cisco Nexus, Cisco ASR, Juniper SRX, F5 BigIP and, A10 load balancers.


    Task includes but is not limited to the contractor supporting the following:

    • Ensure compliance with JTF directives for ports and protocols.
    • Engineer enterprise network architectural changes in response to policies,security or customer requirements
    • Engineer proxy capabilities required by DISA customers within the DCI.
    • Evaluate and engineer network solutions based upon customers’ requirements.
    • Engineer and deploy an IPv6 network in accordance with DOD directives.
    • Attend meetings with DISA customers to collect information for designing
    • Network changes and to provide DISA network architecture standards
    • Prepare technical documentation to include technical white papers, instructional,
    • Engineering solutions and implementation guides.
    • Engineer highly available network infrastructure capable of meeting strict uptime requirements.

    Qualifications

    MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN WITH A SECRET CLEARANCE

     

    Skills Required: 

    • Experience configuring to allow network connections
    • Strong troubleshooting skill to resolve network connection issues
    • Network solutions and design experience
    • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills; ability to organize and prioritize
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical ability

     

    Competencies Required: 

    • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
    • Internet
    • SharePoint
    • VISIO
    • Cisco Nexus, F5 LTM, and Juniper platforms

     

    Technical Skills Required: 

    • Experience with Remedy IT Ticketing system a plus.
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

    • Experience with Juniper and Cisco Routers and Switches

     

    Must have Security+ CE certification

    Certifications Required

    CompTIA Security+ CE

    Education Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree or five years of experience in lieu of a college degree.

     

    Certifications: 

    Required: DoD 8570 IA certification – Security +, CE certification.

    Preferred: CCNA/CCNP/JNICA/CCIE a plus!
